What a year we had. Scored tons of big bass, landed and sight fished species all over the great state of Texas with fishy folks like you reading this and scored the biggest fish weve ever boated a 130lb alligator gar taping right at 72”. They get bigger though and im looking forward to seeing what we can catch this season. Huge Thanks to everyone who booked this last season!!
Were off to a warm start this winter but theres some cold in the forecast fingers crossed we get some winter and some rain to kick off the white bass season. If it stays warm expect the spawning to kick off especially college station and south. Last year the spawn in houston went off super early last week of january if i remeber right. But the Brazos from Possum Kingdom to Waco and other Dallas/Fort Worth/ North East Texas Runs still went off in March. Watch the weather and consider those months depending on where you want to fish for White bass, Yellow bass, crappie and even Hybrid/Stripers.
Largemouth bass fishing can be rough this time of year but long warming trends can lead to the biggest bass of the year getting caught. Not a high numbers game but a grind typically with a few chances at big results. This will continue until February ish depending on what part of the state and winter weather. Then its Prespawn time usually the start of good topwater fishing and not long after Spawning time ending around May. Come get in on the action this winter or early spring and get your shot at the largemouth bass of a lifetime on a fly rod. Biggest boated so far was 10.7lbs from Lake Conroe. Come beat it!
Bowfin action can start heating up this time of year with the start of males greening up for the soon to come spawn. Same deal warming trends in the winter can be great but about the same time largemouth bass start getting shallow things start to really heat up. With males starting to pick out nesting spots and females starting to prowl around the flats nest to nest more frequently. This action is best February through May but the sight fishing is all summer and Fall too.
Alligator Gar, Spotted Gar and Longnose Gar Season Kicks off roughly March/ April especially for Spotted and Longnose Gar but can be rain dependent for the alligator gar in the river especially. Rain likes to blow things out sometimes making the river a bit sketchy but the alligator gar need this to spawn so its not all bad. Things usually level out around June and get more consistent. Come score a true giant on a fly rod!
Devils' and Pecos River Ill still be guiding out west if yall have any interest in a trip to one of these wild rivers. Im part of a solid team out there with some special access depending on how you want to do your trip out there.
